Maama Day Care in the village of Rushooka gives underprivileged children and orphans the opportunity to play in safe grounds and to be prepared for schooling in the way of Maria Montessori.
The Project
A small group of philanthropists set their mind on establishing a pre-schooling day care for the poorest of the poor in Rushooka, Uganda. To provide a safe environment for children aged from 3 to 6 years.
And there was this old building, standing there, without purpose, decaying...
Funding
The project is funded by Orutindo e.V. & Schmitz-Stiftungen, Germany and by "Die Tanten!, Switzerland. The Maama Day Care will by run by the local Organisation ORUTINDO KIDS ORGANISATION Uganda. Once Maama Day Care is operating, it will be run on donations:
- Families will bring food to feed the children and get in exchange a Day Care place for one of their own,
- (monetary) gifts from sponsors,
- locally appropriate fees
